Cosy fires and locally sourced pub grub at The Hoddington Arms in Upton Grey

My favourite thing is the newly refurbished Hoddington Arms in Upton Grey. ‘The Hodd’ as it’s nicknamed had fallen into disrepair before four people from the village kindly took it over and refurbished it. When the pub was closed and looking really shabby and sad it felt like the heart of the village had gone. There was nowhere for the older villagers to meet up for a pint and nowhere for young families to walk to for a Sunday lunch together.

Now it’s really beautiful, with a fab outside area for children, a pretty patio for summer drinks and a fabulous restaurant menu and wine list. All of the food they serve is locally sourced and of the highest quality. I love walking or driving past the pub at night and seeing the fire roaring and villagers and visitors to the area having a really great time.
